In 1989 I travelled through the U.S. and visited New York. Giardinelli Music Company was rather famous at that time and well known for their mouthpieces. In
the 1970ties Giardinelli mouthpieces were much valued by musicians in Vienna before they replaced them by products produced by Karl Breslmair (†1985).
Mr. Friedman was chief of Workshop and was very proud to demaonstrate a visitor from Europe his skills. Breslmair was well known by him and so he tried hard to
make an impressive demonstration. I was not that experienced at that time but I was rather shocked by his approach to copy a rim. ... He wouldn´t have survived two days in my workshop ....
